🧶 Free Written Pattern

1. Foundation Chain

-Ch multiple of 3 plus 1 (e.g., 13 (3×4+1); 16(3×5+1); 19; 22; 25 etc.).

If you are following my YouTube tutorial, please pay attention to this part. In the video, I mentioned the calculation 3 × x − 1 + 2.

However, in this written pattern, I simplified it for clarity. It actually means the same thing — it is just written in a different way to make the pattern easier to follow.

So don’t get confused — both methods lead to the same result. I just adjusted the wording here to make it more beginner-friendly.

-Adjust your foundation chain so it matches the height of your book.
This will determine the final size of your sleeve.

2. Row 1 (Double Crochets)

-Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc across.
-Work 5 dc in the last ch of foundation chain to round the corner.
-Continue dc along the opposite side.
-Work 5 dc in the last stitch.
-Sl st to join.

3. Row 2 (Color Change)

-Ch 3, 2 dc in same stitch.
-Change color, work 3 dc in next gap.
-Repeat across.
-Sl st to join.

4. Row 3 (Solid Color)
